Bakery Lead

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Production Lead to oversee daily operations within our fast-paced food production environment. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in a retail setting and has a passion for maintaining high production standards, food safety, and team collaboration. As a Production Lead, you'll be responsible for supervising workflow, ensuring product quality, reducing shrink, and supporting the training and development of your team all while helping deliver exceptional products to our valued customers.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the daily flow of production to meet quality, quantity, and timeliness standards.
• Ensure all products meet established quality specifications, including those for special orders and custom requests.
• Lead shrink reduction efforts and monitor product yield and waste.
• Order raw materials and ingredients to maintain consistent supply levels.
• Supervise team schedules, including shifts, lunches, and breaks, to maintain optimal workflow.
• Maintain strict adherence to sanitation and food safety protocols.
• Monitor equipment functionality and report or resolve issues to minimize downtime.
• Assist in training and mentoring new team members to ensure productivity and consistency.
• Champion Operational Excellence and continuous improvement initiatives across the department.
• Act as a role model for proper procedures, professional conduct, and safety compliance.

Qualifications and Experience:

• 5 8 years of experience in food production, commercial baking, or a related field.
• Supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of commercial food preparation techniques, tools, and equipment.
• Familiarity with food safety regulations and sanitation standards.
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to train and guide others while maintaining a collaborative team environment.

Physical and Work Requirements:

• Must be able to lift 20 lbs or more on occasion.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, retail production environment.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
